Partial Dentures
When a person is only missing some of their natural teeth, a partial denture is used. This helps to alleviate strain on natural teeth and jaws and prevents teeth from shifting into the vacant spaces.
There are various types of partials to consider when deciding how best to replace missing teeth.

ACRYLIC PARTIALS
Made of a tissue-colored acrylic material and held in place by wrought wire or clear plastic clasps. Additional teeth can easily be added over time, as needed. Typically less expensive, but can feel more bulky in the mouth. Also, tends to break more easily than other options.

CAST METAL FRAME PARTIALS
Made with minimal acrylic material set on metal framework, allowing for thinner, smaller overall feel. Offers superior strength, but typically at a more expensive cost. Is more difficult, but still possible, to add additional teeth later on.

FLEX PARTIALS
Made of a thermoplastic nylon resin material. Very thin and durable. Flexibility minimizes breakage, and allows for clasps that secure tightly around natural teeth. This provides a comfortable and confident fit. Generally more expensive and very difficult to have additional teeth added later.
